Frequently Asked Questions
Can I try before I buy?
Yes. If you would like to try us out before enrolling in the full semester, we do offer 1-time trial lessons to new students for 30 minutes at a rate of $30. Trial lessons for adults are $60 for a 60-minute lesson.
Do adults have to sign up for an entire semester?
No. Due to the complex schedule of adults, we understand that it is more difficult to commit to long-term lessons. Adult students can purchase packages of 5 or 10 lessons, which can be used to book appointments online through our website. Pricing is as follows:
5 lessons: $425
10 lessons: $800
Lesson packages must be completed before the end of the semester in which they were purchased.
What is included in a semester package?
LGMS takes pride in providing the highest quality lessons at affordable prices. As such, all semester packages are inclusive of registration fees, recital-related costs, and our two group classes.
What discounts do you offer?
Several!
5% discount to pay your semester fee in full.
5% discount for enrolling siblings for a semester.
Discounts can be combined, but not exceeding a 10% discount.
What is your make-up policy for missed lessons?
In the event that a student has to cancel a scheduled lesson, they must provide the teacher with 24-hours notice, in order to be eligible for a make-up lesson. Rescheduled lessons can be taught via skype at the discretion of the instructor. LGMS cannot reschedule lessons canceled with less than 24-hours notice for any reason.
In the event that an instructor has to cancel a scheduled lesson, they will reschedule their students at a time that is convenient for the student.
In the event of a snow day or extreme weather event, it will be at the discretion of the LGMS instructor whether or not to reschedule lessons for that day.
Do you offer ensemble classes?
Yes we do! For the first time this year we will be offering musicianship for kids classes that cover: ear training, music theory and songwriting, and rock ensemble. Both classes will be taught Saturday Morning at our rehearsal studio located at 495 Flatbush Avenue. For more information contact info@leffertsgardenmusicschool.com.
What is your refund policy?
Students have an option to purchase a one-time trial lesson. However, once a student is enrolled for a semester, they are committing to the entire semester. Students are not allowed to withdraw from classes or change their lesson times until the end of the semester. We do not offer refunds for students wishing to withdraw and students paying monthly are required to continue all payments through the end of the semester.
Can I sign up for lessons if the semester has already started?
Yes. Your semester fee will be prorated based on the number of weeks there are remaining in the semester. Contact us to find out what class times are still available.
